New (to me) books, music, films
Reading: Finished Ann Enright's The Gathering a couple weeks ago and just got The Wig My Father Wore in the mail. I'll start it this week. I also read a short story of Enright's and it was brilliant. It's beautiful prose--sometimes I get lost in the words and forget just exactly how they fit into the story.
Listening: American Music Club's new record, The Golden Age. It's really excellent. They'll be here in April and I'll be in the audience.
Watching: Finally watched the DVD I got at Christmas about Shane MacGowan. Lately he's got me reading about James Mangan, fascinating person. Shane and the Pogues will be here the week after next. Meanwhile I've got St. Elmo's Fire on as I type this which is like comfort food.
