November 11, 2006 What a week Deval Patrick was elected governor of Massachusetts. He's the first Democrat governor we've elected since 1986. He's also only the second black governor in U.S. history. (The first was Douglas Wilder in Virginia in 1990) Massachusetts also elected our first female Attorney General, Martha Coakley. And the anti-gay marriage ballot failed. Excellent. Of course, nationally we've got the first female Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi and a few key folks are gone which is a good thing. Posted by Jen on
