About: I'm Jen. I live a few miles outside of Boston. I do web work for a non-profit during the day. This web page has been in all sorts of forms since 1994 when I first wrote HTML in emacs on a Unix terminal at BU. Now I prefer BBEdit on my Mac. I'm never quite sure why I'm doing this Archives

May 1, 2006 International Workers Day On May 1, 1886 an eight-hour workday in the United States to came in effect. Today they're chanting "No more death in factories" in Bangladesh, the unemployed are marching in Bosnia, and in Mozambique thousands marched for worker rights. Here in the U.S., nationwide immigrant rallies are happening. I understand immigration laws to a degree and this newly proposed bill, but what about including a clear path to legality?
