About: I'm Jen. I live a few miles outside of Boston. I do web work for a non-profit during the day. This web page has been in all sorts of forms since 1994 when I first wrote HTML in emacs on a Unix terminal at BU. Now I prefer BBEdit on my Mac. I'm never quite sure why I'm doing this Archives

October 28, 2004 Finally
The new question in Boston will not be when the Red Sox will ever win the World Series. It may be how many statues to erect at Fanueil Hall. (from a NYTimes article, no less) Posted by Jen on

October 14, 2004 Goats
Saw the Mountain Goats on Sunday evening at the Middle East. Mr. John Vanderslice opened up and was enjoyable. It was nice to be standing on the slopey Middle East (downstairs) wood floor, drinking my usual coke and grenadine, and hearing some live music. I'd read in this post that John Darnielle. the Mountain Goat fella, has said: After seeing him live, I know what he means. He was lovely, excellent, and good. You really should buy Tallahassee. The last thing I got excited about from Florida was the Mickey Mouse soap I found in the shower when work sent me down to Orlando. Anyway. Also good as of late, in a more food-like way, is the $1 cup of coffee from the Diesel, the cheesy potatos from Blue Ribbon with tomatoes, corn, and peas, and the fancy with fruit and nuts chicken salad from Pemberton Farms. Now if only the Red Sox would win, everything would be good. Posted by Jen on
